Day 1
- Fly into Santiago and be greeted by the MotoCaribe Staff. After your first taste of Dominican food, drive to Jarabacoa for a relaxing evening at your resort.
Day 2
- “Get to Know Your Steed” Day. After the orientation after breakfast, get comfortable on your V-Strom 650 and ride through the tropical Dominican Alps, blasting around Jarabacoa and its breathtaking vistas, mountain roads and Jurassic Park-like waterfalls. After a late lunch lunch in a quaint mountainside resort, shower and change for a late afternoon trip to Carnival in La Vega. Bring a big memory card as your photos and videos of this annual collage of color and sound will wow the folks back home.
Day 3
- “Samana, Here We Come” Day. “Epic” is the only way to describe today’s journey to the idyllic Samana peninsula. Put a large memory chip in your camcorder, because your friends back home won’t believe your tale.
- The thrill of blasting the epic “Tail of the Iguana” mountain road will be a Memory of the Ages! 272 twists, turns and switchbacks in 21 miles with an amazing vista stop overlooking the Cibao Valley; you’ll ascend and descend 3300 ft.
- You’ll ride along the blue Atlantic Ocean, and a relaxing lunch of Dominican specialties at a roadside restaurant. Your journey through Paradise resumes and your day ends with great camaraderie over cold drinks and a remarkable dinner buffet in your tropical beach-front boutique resort in Samana.
Day 4
- “Ooh and Aah” Day. An End-of-the-Road-in-Paradise seaside village beckons followed by amazing back roads leading to fascinating ocean-front geological formations of Indiana Jones-style caves, mind-blowing scenic vistas and “hold-onto-your-hat” blow-holes.
- The day is still young. You make a spirited mountain run through sweeping curves toward a magical deep-jungle waterfall where you trade your V-Strom for a horse for the last stretch. Following lunch in an authentic Dominican “parador,” you’ll ride through the beach town of Las Terrenas and challenge another twisty high-mountain road, returning to your resort for another great dinner buffet. Your day ends with a beach bonfire.
Day 5
- “Can’t Get Enough Tail” Day! The expedition continues as you head back to Jarabacoa via the ocean-hugging highway and epic “Tail of the Iguana”. The adventure stops at a primordial crystal clear cave spring for a swim break, a stop at an eternal “wet beach” and a long lunch at a local off-the-beaten-path beachside restaurant. You’ll settle into another Dominican resort in Jarabacoa with a marvelous Dominican meal.
Day 6
- “To the SouthWest.” After a ride down the autopista to tour caverns with ancient drawings by the indigenous people, the Tainos, you’ll rally through mountains and valleys to the nearly-hidden waterfront village of Las Salinas on a narrow peninsula snuggled between a bay and the Caribbean Sea. Along the journey, see the vegetation morph from tropical green to desert arid. Your early arrival means time to lounge and swim. Dinner is served on the veranda overlooking the yacht basin. Simply magnificent!
Day 7
- “Into the Desert.” After breakfast you’ll van it to a national park where you’ll feel like Lawrence of Arabia walking on massive sand dunes to an ocean overview. later that morning, you’ll blast further into the only desert in the Caribbean. Along the route, you’ll venture up a twisty mountain roads for lunch and a swim at a mountain ”rancho”, and experience a strange place that gravity “forgot”…where your bike rolls uphill on its own! Your destination is the bustling town of Barahona where you’ll be greeted with tropical drinks at your sea-front resort. Dinner is a buffet of Dominican specialties.
Day 8
- “THIS is Adventure Touring!” Many of our riders have claimed this is their single greatest motorcycling experience of their lives, an epic adventure of pure motorcycling awesomeness and a day you will never forget. You’ll rally south along the majestic hills next to the Caribbean Sea for miles…think Pacific Coast Highway…through quaint seaside villages, then blast down a frontier National Park road ending in the border town of Pedernales.
- You’ll ride fantastic hard-packed desert roads to a tiny seaside village. There you’ll swim in the crystal clear Caribbean sea and feast on a scrumptious seafood lunch in quaint thatch-roof restaurant just feet from the postcard-perfect blue sea. This is living large, MotoCaribe style, and you will NOT want to leave!
- And the best part? You get to ride those spectacular roads back to the resort!
Day 9
- “Back into the Valley.” You get a lot of seat time today as your adventure leads back to the mountains of Jarabacoa.
Day 10
- “Best Ride Yet.” Many of our guests consider this the best riding day of the entire trip. After a morning tour of a local coffee producer, you blast down the “autopista” and dizzying mountain road to the high-valley town of Constanza, the breadbasket of the Dominican Republic. Rallying to altitudes as high as 5000 ft., the road is spectacular, the scenery unparalleled and there will be multiple stops along the way for your photo album. Lunch will be served in a resort restaurant overlooking town. You’ll be back in time for the special Farewell Dinner together in downtown Jarabacoa in. What a way to end a week in the Dominican Republic!
Day 11
- We say our “hasta luego” and “Buen viaje” as our van takes you to Santiago International Airport for your departing flights, knowing you’ll be back!
